A Very Furry Christmas

We had a house full of dogs this Christmas holiday. We had a great group. I said to my husband many time this past week that we were very lucky to have such an easy group of dogs over Christmas. It was a funny looking group too. From the huge Mastiff to the small beagle / poodle mix. We had dogs of all shapes and sizes and they all got along great.

On Christmas morning the dogs opened their Christmas box that had been provided by Piper's mom.  It was filled with toys and treats for them all to share. Piper and Lucy reached in and grabbed out a favorite toy. It was a very happy Christmas morning for the dogs. :-)

We gave Chaca a festive little bow     :-)

Puppy Time With Kadan

Last week Kadan stayed with us for a few days. He is a 9 month old lab mix. He was really sweet. He would crawl up on the couch and would actually sit ON me. I kept telling my husband that he was just a big baby. He is certainly a people loving dog. He is also a TOY loving dog!

Here he is laying in his "path of destruction"  haha!!
He looks pretty proud of himself , don't ya think?  :-)

Then he found a big stick!  haha!!!

This picture with his tongue hanging out makes me laugh. Such a silly puppy dog.
He is coming back in February to stay with us for 2 weeks. I'm looking forward to seeing this happy face again.

Pet Food Drive Sucess!

After the Hungry Bowl was over I went to pick up the donations. I am thrilled to report that we collected over 162lbs of dog and cat food! Tomorrow we are delivering it all to Homeward Pet.
Thank you to everyone who participated and filled the bowl of a pet in need. Happy Holidays!

Everyone Loves Santa!

We took Izzie to see Santa the other day. On Main Street in Bothell there is a Santa who sits in the window at Frame Wright. It's great because it is close to home, it's totally free, and you take your own pictures. The best part is that you can bring your dog!  :-)

We also brought Bella so that we could surprise her mom with a few Santa pictures for Christmas.
Bella was all over the place with excitement and trying to love on everyone. She was alot more into this Santa than the Santa doll at our house. haha!
I have a feeling that Santa liked her a little too. ;-)

When Bella Met Santa

Dogs never cease to crack me up with the silly things they do. Sometimes their reactions are so off the wall and unexpected. A few days ago we put out our Christmas decorations. They included a large Santa doll. Everything was fine until the Santa was knocked over by Bella. She didn't notice it before but once it fell down and startled her, she realized how much she hated Santa.  haha!  Check out the video we took of Bella reacting to Santa. I think she may be getting a lump of coal in her stocking.  :-)

Reviews Say It All

I have some of the best clients and I am always so thankful when they take the time to write a review. I wanted to share some of the reviews I have received.

Tailor Made has been a God Send!! . I am a firefighter /paramedic and work 24 hr shifts 2 -3 days out of the week. Laura picks up Bella for me at my home and she becomes part of the family at Tailor Made.
Laura gives each dog such special attention and focuses on their individual needs. It is such a relief to know Bella is in the best care while I am at work. Bella has had a couple of health problems and Laura has pampered her while giving her meds and special foods.
I would highly recommend Tailor Made pet sitting. The prices are competitive to that of a kennel, yet the pets here get "family style" attention and are not crated.
I especially love the communication with Laura. I get emails, texts and pics, or phone calls letting me know how Bella is doing.
I strongly encourage giving Tailor Made a try and see how it feels to board your pet GUILT FREE!

Laura is amazing!  She knew how nervous I was to leave my puppy with strangers and in a new place.  She cared for my pup as if he were her own. She sent me daily updates as to how he was doing while we were away to keep my mind at ease and so that I could enjoy our vacation.  The no kennel policy and the amount of human attention my dog got is unique and I couldn't find anything else like it when I was searching for dog kennels.  I will use her again and for dog owners who love their dog as much as I do and consider them part of your family,  I highly reccomend Tailor Made Pet Sitting.

This was our first time leaving our dog with strangers.  I love how it's just a regular "house setup" and that the dogs don't have to be in kennels.  Our dog was super excited to be there and felt comfortable right away.  Laura is a big time animal lover and is great with details!  I will definitely use this service again.

"highly recommended" They were really loving and caring with our dog. They obviously cared about our pet's needs and took care of her as an individual, even keeping the same rules for her that we have at home. We plan to use their services to watch our dog any time that we need to go out of town in the future.

Holiday Pet Food Drive

This year I am taking part in the Hungry Bowl and organizing a pet food drive. All food will be donated to Homeward Pet, a local animal rescue group. Here is some information that I copied from their website.

Mission Statement
Homeward Pet is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter serving the Seattle area. Our mission is to give homeless animals a second chance through our rescue, shelter, and adoption programs.

20 Years of Animal Rescue and Adoption!
Celebrate our 20th anniversary with us! We were founded in 1990 under the name "Hooterville Pet Safehaus". We started with simple goals: save and re-home cats and dogs and educate the public about spaying and neutering their pets.

In 2002 Hooterville became Homeward Pet Adoption Center. We are one of the largest no-kill shelters in the state of Washington! Each year Homeward helps over 1,300 cats and dogs find their forever home. Where do these animals come from? 40% are owner surrenders and the other 60% are animals we rescue from shelters who euthanize.

We remain small with a staff of 15 (half are part time). And our 200+ volunteers are our backbone (thank you volunteers and donors!). Many of the rescued animals who come to Homeward get more love and attention in our shelter than they have ever known.

Every Dog Needs a Nickname

All the dogs who stay here, end up leaving with a nickname. :-)  I'm silly like that. I like to talk to them in a sing-song voice, and I always end up calling them something silly. Sometimes it's based on their personality and sometimes it's just a word play with their name. Here are a few of the dogs and the nicknames I gave them.

Right now we have a Mastiff named Choca staying with us.
I call him "Chaka Kahn"  haha!  I have been humming "Ain't Nobody" ever since he arrived.

Millie
I called "Miss Piggy" because she had this round belly that looked like a fleshy pink pig belly. She also would walk around sniffing and grunting. In her sleep she would snore and grunt.

Vern the greyhound. She is so big that I joke that it feels like we are boarding a horse.
So I called her "Mrs. Ed"   haha!

Then Piper
 "Hyper Piper"

..and Hailey
 also known as "Happy Hailey"

Senior Dogs

We recently had a very sweet senior dog named Millie. She is an 11 year old Beagle. She was such a sweet old girl.  This picture really makes me laugh because I think it looks like she is flying!  haha!

I have a soft spot for those pets who need a little extra care. Pets who are sick, or injured, or just getting old. I turn into such a "dog mommy" and I just want to take care of them. :-)  Millie really won my heart, and I was sad to see her go. When dogs stay with us for a week or more, it always feels a little empty after they leave.
I look forward to seeing her again

Puppy Love

Over the weekend we boarded the most adorable and BIG puppy. This is Seppi and he is a 10 month old Goldendoodle. The best part of Seppi's stay with us, was when he met"Bella the Boxer".

Bella is 4 years old and was the perfect energy level for Seppi. It was love at first sight. :-)
They played for hours and hours. The next day they woke up and did it all over again. They would roll around in the yard, in the house, anywhere! They wouldn't STOP! haha!
I was of course there with my camera in hand. :-)
Don't worry! Bella wasn't the only one being bossy and on top...Seppi certainly had his moments too! haha!

It was so fun to watch the two of them together. They were in puppy paradise! :-)

"Home Environment" Dog Boarding

This is what we mean when we say "we are not a large dog ranch or a kennel, we are a home".....
This is what we mean when we use the term "Home Environment" Dog Boarding.....
We are a home based dog boarding service in Bothell. We only take up to 4 dogs in our home at a time. (except holidays)
Dogs love our comfortable dog friendly home & enjoy all the attention that Laura and James give them. And we LOVE to give it!
